Small progress in many directions

Fabric Yoyos for the day....the weather has been beautiful so it makes waiting for the bus a bit easier, not completely but a bit. It is nice to see the basket fill a little more each day.  One day soon I will post the directions, not that they are complicated but just in case anyone else wants to do these.

Major disaster!!  This is one of my second graders' back packs.  He has carried it since the first day of kindergarten.  As it turns out the zipper is not broken, but as one of my just ones for tomorrow or Sunday I need to reinforce the bottom and fix the hole.

Boy this picture makes my hand look chubby, oh well.  I am thinking of cannibalizing a WalMart (yes I said that store name that I keep getting preached at about shopping there....but that is a different post) The bags are black and nearly the same fabric so it will blend as a patch(ish) I'll photo as I go and hope for the best.  He cried all the way home a the thought of a new bag!

It is slow going, I am not as good at this just one as my yoyos. But there is the progress for weaving.  This is what I saw as I was weaving today.  My loom sits under the banister in our (for lack of better word) entry way.

It is my 2 year old daughter on laying on the steps combing the tuft of hair on the head of Cheer Bear.  Not a bad view.

Next project...These are the paint samples that are for my sister Becca's new baby's nursery.  I am using them to pick fabric for the quilt.  I will post each step.  Today all I managed was to go through most of my 2 inch squares box ( fabric cut into 2 inch squares, its what I do with scraps that are too big to throw away) and collect ones that I think will work for the piecing for the top of it.  WE'll see tomorrow how well I chose!

I am not completely sure why but I am past exhausted and soccer comes early tomorrow morning!HAve a great weekend and keep checking back and checking out my new ads....one yesterday was for printing your own custom fabric....that would be amazing!!!
